the *!@#$%! dogs

we couldn't keep the Pyrenees in, so Kevin stuck her back in with the Black Lab, they now have a much smaller pen & are co-existing very well. So now we have a pen for another pet...Katie thinks a pig, which we can't get until I quit PSF. I think the gray cat finally exited the garage...haven't heard any yowling lately.

dogs continued...

Buddese the Pyranese got out of the pen last nite, she crawled over the gate. I couldn't get her back in, Kevin put her in this am, made the gate taller. He went to his dads, came home in the afternoon, she had dug several impressive holes & was out again. He lured her back in with dog food, filled her holes, & now they're back to acting miserable & howling at each other. You just can't make some dogs happy, I guess. If she continues to get out, guess we'll put them back together & see how it goes. (she never attempted an escape when she was rooming with our grandma dog, Hayley the Black Lab, that Koren adopted when Kate was just starting to walk good.)
But, she didn't like Hayley eating. Maybe it's time for boarding school...

Kevin got tired of Katie & I complaining about the dogs fighting, so when he got home from playing farmer at dusk, he started dragging around the huge heavy homemade metal panels he built the pen out of, dividing them into 2 pens quite a ways apart, with the back fence still there. I have a vision of planting a small garden there, with something to climb up the fence. It all sounds quite charming right now. We all know I'm lazy. Maybe even a birdbath & a bench. Some of those cute little old fashioned kid statues. We'll see how it plays out when spring actually arrives.
of course the dogs now miss each other & are out there howling & carrying on.

Stripey

Stripey was in the same litter of kitens as Starlight. Stripey doesn't have a burrial because he ran off. Being a tom cat, they don't stay in one place. He has a sister Cooleyo who is still alive and no longer wild and Devil who used to be named angel. Twist of fate. It turned evil. Cooleyo has had babies. Stripey never got too, I think.

Baby

The first kitten I had gotten attached to seen Starlight. She was striped. Her mother was Sacagewea. Her dad is unknown. All my friends liked her, but I tried not to play with her to much otherwise she would smell like human and her mom would not accept her. Baby was the only kitten that made it, until a few months ago. I've lost so many kittens this year. Once, Baby accidentally got inside when I went out to see her. My mom tried to shoe her out but, I picked her up and took her back outside.

Phantom

One day while I was walking out to my tent, I saw a dead kitten. I had never seen her before. She was white. I named her Phantom.

Starlight

The first decised kitten of the Dailey's. She was the runt of the family. I liked her the best. She got sick so we wrapped her up in washcloth for the night. I went outside to say hello to her before school, and found her laying dead on the portch. We burried her an days later Kelsie came over and ordered me to dig up Starlight. It was horrible. I wouldn't talk to her for months.

Twilelight, Shadow, Laceyi, and Janie

Twilelight, Shadow, Laceyi, & Janie. Their mom was Midnight and the dad was unknown. They were all black and were the source pf the stinky smell in the garage. The kitten reaper strikes again!

Squirt

KJ found a dead kitten in the garage yesterday, Katie told me about it at bedtime. So, we had a funeral this morning & Squirt is now under the tree behind the garage with Starlight, Phantom, & Baby.
