her name was originally Laffy & she belonged to the little Emily next door. they moved, Laffy stayed. she had been hanging out at our house for some time, we'd been feeding her, she took naps under the tree in the backyard. she was very skittish. Katie christened her Sophie and she can pet her. right now she is roaming free like she always has. I helped Katie pull some ticks off her the other day. we probably need to move her in the pen with Haleyi.

How Daisy Joined Our Family
it all started with Girl Scouts....we did pet badges in November & made catnip toys to donate to Green Hills Animal Shelter in Trenton. on our Christmas Vacation tour, one of the girls pointed out a sad eyed dog in a small crate. after we got home, I looked up her name....I fell in love with her. had to talk Kevin into it....afterall, we already have 2 outside dogs, about 10 outside wild cats, an inside cat, and a hyper inside needy weiner dog. One night I filled out an online app, they called when I was baking a pumpkin bundt cake on a Saturday morning, their monthly adoption day. Kevin, Katie, & I went, while Katie walked Daisy around & got to know her, I did the paperwork, paid our $91, stopped at Orshelin's for some doggie supplies, and home we came. got Daisy somewhat settled in before our Girl Scout meeting. Her name at the shelter was Daisy. Katie said we would name her Clementine. (I love that name!) at Girl Scouts, the girls were calling her Daisy Mae. so, she was christened Daisy Mae Clementine Dailey.Sasha was a bit frantic at first. Daisy was just happy to run laps around the house. We had her a little over a week when she went to get fixed & her rabies shot. she can slip out of the collar when she goes out to potty, so has to wear a harness. she'll frolic outside forever with her long red hair, while poor nearly naked shorthaired Sasha wants to potty & get back inside.
Daisy is an older dog, she was rescued by GHAS from a puppy mill in south Missouri. The vet had to pull some teeth that were bad. one ear is shriveled up, the other has been ripped almost in two & healed that way. she is missing front teeth from chewing on her cage. and her nose is all scarred up from the cage. she seems fairly happy with us. Katie is her favorite Dailey. She sleeps with her. she can't jump up and down off furniture, someone has to lift her. she doesn't like to chew on toys, but does chew on guitar straps & duffle bag straps. she growls at KJ a lot. Kevin seems to like her, he'll tell me amusing stories of the doggie antics during the day while I'm at work. she'll run to the door when it's time to potty, her & Sasha have a time getting their leashes tangled up.
she was purchased by GHAS from Southwest Auctin Service in Wheaton, MO. her papers say she is a Red Dapple Dachshund born 10/6/08. she has a microchip #4A3 94A 5A2C.
her dam was Williams KOJO, sire Williams Piper, breeder Nancy Williams of Purdy, MO. she has papers and could be registered.
the shelter got her December 16, 2010.
the vet estimated her birthdate as 07/19/2005 on his rabies paperwork.

The last of the puppies, Buddah & Bear, are gone. all 8 of them didnt survive...... the mom, Boodas, is completely unfased, but has something worth rubbing her head on the ground to get out, Haleyi is getting old & her muzzle is completely gray. we think most of the puppies died because of the same thing, over time getting really bad stomaches & dirahea until it kills them. the 1st to died of hypotherma, their 1st rain.

and then there were 2....
down to 2 puppies...Katie's favorite puppy is still with us. (thank God!) the weather has been cold, rainy, wet...not ideal for a first time mom whose hobby is sleeping in mudholes...
